Australian Partnership Takes Mustang to Japan

According to Motorsport Australia, an exciting collaboration between two Australian outfits will see a factory Ford Mustang GT3 tackle one of the world's premier endurance races next month.

Miedecke Motorsport and Melbourne Performance Centre have joined forces to campaign the Mustang GT3 at the Suzuka 1000, competing under the Miedecke Motorsport by Team MPC banner. The entry will feature Ford's latest Evo performance package as it takes on Round 4 of the Intercontinental GT Challenge.

Behind the wheel will be Ford factory drivers Christopher Mies, Frédéric Vervisch and Dennis Olsen — a stellar international line-up assembled to give the Australian operation genuine fighting chance against the world's top GT3 teams.

Melbourne-Based Operation Gets Factory Nod

Miedecke Motorsport CEO Andrew Miedecke says the opportunity to represent Ford Racing at such a prestigious event is a proud moment for the all-Australian effort.

"We've grown our partnership with Team MPC throughout the year — we share workshop space at their Melbourne facility, and with our Ford connections, this collaboration made perfect sense," Miedecke explained.

The partnership builds on Miedecke Motorsport's established relationship with both Ford and Multimatic, the Canadian firm that constructs Ford Racing's GT3, GT4 and Mustang Cup race cars. Miedecke Motorsport serves as Multimatic's Australasian agent, making them the natural choice for this international campaign.

The Suzuka 1000 represents a significant step up for the Australian team, pitting them against factory-backed operations from across the globe at one of motorsport's most challenging circuits.
