The FD cats are a ticking time bomb

tip

The factory catalytic converters on the FD break down internally and the ceramic substrate gets sucked back into the engine through the exhaust ports. This scores the rotor housings and kills the engine. If your FD still has factory cats, get them removed and replaced with a proper decat or high-flow cat. This is non-negotiable. I've seen two engines destroyed by disintegrating cats. It's the first thing I tell anyone who buys an FD.
