Electric window failure

Symptoms

Windows won't go up or down, move slowly, or stop halfway.

Cause

Window motor brushes wear. Regulators seize or strip. Wiring connections corrode. Switches wear internally.

Fix

Diagnose whether it's the switch, the wiring, or the motor.

Replace the failed component.

Motors are available (both new and reconditioned).
