Enzo Ferrari called the E-Type "the most beautiful car ever made."

// THE STORY

When the E-Type debuted at the 1961 Geneva Motor Show, Enzo Ferrari called it "the most beautiful car ever made." That wasn't flattery, it was acknowledgement. Jaguar had won Le Mans five times in the 1950s, proving that beauty and speed were not mutually exclusive. In Australia, the Jaguar community spans from pre-war elegance to the muscular XJS grand tourers. The XK engine, designed during WWII air raids, powered Jaguars for over 40 years. These are cars built on the belief that getting there should be as thrilling as arriving.

Jaguar Drivers Club WA

WA

The Jaguar Drivers Club of Western Australia has been running since 1962, making it one of Perth's longest-established single-marque car clubs. With around 110 members and close to 300 registered cars between them, the club covers every era of Jaguar motoring, from pre-war SS models through the legendary E-Type, the XJ saloons, and on to modern F-Types and I-Paces. Sunday morning meets at Kings Park are a highlight. Fraser Avenue lined with Jaguars of every vintage is quite a sight, and the location overlooking the Swan River gives the whole thing a slightly grand feel that suits the marque. The club runs regular tours through the Swan Valley wine region, an annual concours, and longer weekend trips down to Albany and Margaret River. The club takes a relaxed approach to membership. You don't need to own a Jaguar to join, though most members have at least one - and many have several. There's a strong culture of helping each other with maintenance, and the club maintains a list of trusted mechanics and parts suppliers around Perth.
