every chev 350 in a monaro leaks oil from the valley cover gasket between the intake manifold and the block. its the first thing to fix on any newly acquired car. the gasket is $20 and the job takes about 3 hours including pulling the intake manifold, carby and all the vacuum lines. while youre in there replace the intake gaskets too cos theyre probably leaking as well. this one job usually fixes 80% of the oil leaks on a chev small block.
