Disc brake conversion on FJ40,the drums are rubbish

the factory drum brakes on a 40 series are barely adequate when theyre new. fifty years later theyre terrifying. the hilux disc brake conversion for the front is a well-documented swap using LN106 hilux calipers and rotors. fits with a bracket kit from cruiser outfitters for about $400. the difference is massive. you actually stop now instead of gently suggesting the car might slow down eventually.
