E-Type cooling system, the original design runs too hot

tip

The Series 1 and Series 2 E-Type cooling systems were barely adequate when the cars were new, and fifty-plus years of radiator core degradation has made the problem worse. The first upgrade every E-Type owner should make is a proper aluminium radiator from a specialist like Radsport or Kenlowe. The original copper/brass radiator can be recored but an aluminium unit flows significantly better and sheds about 5kg of weight from the front of the car. Combine it with a Kenlowe electric fan to replace the viscous coupling unit and you'll have a car that runs comfortably at 82-85 degrees even in Perth summer traffic.
