Jensen-built vs Gothenburg P1800, how to tell
tip
The early P1800 bodies were built by Jensen in West Bromwich (1961-63) while the later 1800S models were built entirely in Gothenburg. The Jensen cars have body number plates starting with 1 and are identifiable by subtly different panel gaps and slightly rougher finish on the inner wings. Both are desirable, but the Gothenburg cars are generally better built. Check the chassis plate on the firewall for the body number prefix.
