XP Falcon,the last of the original American-shaped Falcons

The XP was the final evolution of the original Falcon shape that started with the XK in 1960. It represents the best of the early Falcons: the proven 144 and 170 cubic inch sixes were refined, the three-speed column-shift was smooth, and the build quality was the best Ford Australia had achieved to that point. The Deluxe trim with the chrome package is the one to have. Good XP Deluxes in original condition are becoming scarce and prices are moving upward. If you find one with a straight body and a clean interior, buy it. They don't come up often in SA.
