Everyone wants a 240Z but the 260Z 2+2 is the Z-car for people who actually want to use their car. The longer wheelbase gives a smoother ride and the rear seats, while small, are genuinely useful for bags or small children. The 2.6-litre L26 engine has more torque than the 240Z's L24, making it more relaxed on the highway. Yes, purists will tell you the 240Z is the only real Z-car, but the 260Z 2+2 can be had for half the price and it's a lovely grand tourer for weekend drives up the coast from Sydney.
