Rotary Club QLD is a Brisbane-based club dedicated to rotary-engined Mazdas. If it has a Wankel under the bonnet, it belongs here - RX-2s, RX-3s, RX-7s (all three generations), RX-8s, and the occasional Cosmo or rotary-swapped oddball. The club was founded in 2015 by a group of RX-7 owners who were tired of explaining to other car club members why their engines sounded like angry sewing machines.
Monthly meets rotate between Brisbane cafes, usually somewhere with good coffee and enough car park space for a dozen rotaries to idle (briefly, before overheating). The club runs spirited drives through the Gold Coast hinterland, regular dyno days, and an annual track day at Queensland Raceway that always produces some memorable apex seal stories.
The club has a strong technical culture. Members share rebuild knowledge, source parts collectively from Japan, and organise group buys on consumables like apex seals and rotor housings. If you own a rotary Mazda in Queensland and haven't joined yet, you're missing out on the best source of specialist knowledge in the state.
