| Part | OEM Number | AU Alternative | Suppliers | Price Range |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Oil filter (B18/B20) | 3517857 | Ryco Z9 | Repco, Supercheap Auto | $8-15 |
| Air filter element | 673468 | Ryco A340 | Repco, Supercheap Auto | $15-25 |
| Fuel filter (inline) | 1276864 | Ryco Z14 | Repco, Supercheap Auto | $5-10 |
| Oil (recommended) | , | Penrite HPR 30 (20W-60) | Repco, Total Tools | $35-50 (5L) |
Notes: The B18 and B20 engines use the same spin-on oil filter. Some early B18 cars had a canister-type filter, check yours. Penrite HPR 30 is the go-to for Australian owners running these on the street; if it's a weekend car, Penrite Classic Light (25W-70) works well in warmer climates.
Engine Gaskets
| Part | OEM Number | AU Alternative | Suppliers | Price Range |

| Full engine gasket set (B20) | , | , | VP Autoparts | $130-200 |
Notes: Always use genuine Volvo or quality aftermarket gaskets. Cheap eBay gaskets are false economy on these engines. VP Autoparts in Sweden ships to Australia and is the go-to for comprehensive gasket sets. Skandix (Germany) is a close second.
Cooling System
| Part | OEM Number | AU Alternative | Suppliers | Price Range |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Thermostat (82C) | 273459 | Tridon TT234-82 | Repco, Supercheap Auto | $15-25 |
| Water pump (B18/B20) | 271975 | , | VP Autoparts, Skandix | $55-90 |
| Radiator hoses (set) | Various | Gates/Mackay (by size) | Repco | $20-40 |
| Heater tap | 672242 | , | VP Autoparts | $25-45 |
Notes: The stock 82C thermostat is correct for Australian conditions. Some owners run 71C for added safety margin in hot climates, but 82C helps emissions and engine longevity. Never run without a thermostat, the engine needs back-pressure for even cooling.

Electronic ignition kits (Pertronix Ignitor) are a popular and reversible upgrade, about $120-150.

Notes: Koni Classics are the gold standard for Amazons. Bilstein also makes excellent alternatives. Australian roads are tough on leaf springs, re-arching by a specialist is usually better value than NOS replacements. King Springs can make custom front springs if you've lowered or modified the car.
