Ford

Blue Oval. Aussie muscle.

The GT-HO Phase III was the fastest four-door production car in the world in 1971.

// THE STORY

Ford Australia didn't just assemble American cars, it built its own. The Falcon evolved from a fragile US import into one of the toughest, fastest sedans in the world. The GT-HO Phase III was the fastest four-door production car on earth in 1971. The Barra inline-six became a tuning legend, with stock turbo models making 360hp and aftermarket builds cracking 1,000hp. When Broadmeadows closed in 2016, an era ended, but the Falcon community only grew stronger. These are the cars that defined one side of Australia's greatest automotive rivalry.
